ProtectFish project team presentation!

As our project is now already rolling for over several months, we are excited to introduce the first round of our dedicated team behind the ProtectFish project. Our project aims at protecting endangered river fish populations across the EU. This post includes only a part of our ProtectFish project team presentation.

Our team is composed of passionate professionals from various fields, all working together to achieve our goals.

Meet the project team & our members – Part 1

  • DTU Aqua led by Niels Jepsen and our project Coordinator has been instrumental in organizing the administrative side of the project, as well as coordinating the project’s scientific activities in an effective way. The ProtectFish project team presentation highlights their contributions.
  • Czech Academy of Sciences – with the help of Prof. Dr. Martin Čech – a leading institute  in research of fish sampling techniques and research of fish ecology and behavior in various freshwater systems from small streams to large lakes and reservoirs.
  • Aarhus University – under supervision of Prof. Dr. Thomas Bregnballe –  is Work Package 2 leader. This organization oversees the work on the best possible overview of the status and trends in cormorant numbers & their distribution throughout the European Union in collaboration with experts in this field.
  • Sakowicz Inland Fisheries Institute (NIFRI): A leading Polish research center specializing in freshwater fish, invertebrate, and avian habitats. Poland’s rivers, rich with grayling and a history of predation issues, make it an ideal location for a significant field study for our project.

Stay tuned for the second round of Project partners’ presentations later on! Don’t miss the continuation of the ProtectFish project team presentation in the next post.
