Earlier this year, we’ve presented you the first round of ProtectFish project members that are key to our EU-Funded HorizonEurope project.
Today, we gladly present you the remaining partners that further support the ProtectFish project.
🔷 BfG | Bundesanstalt für Gewässerkunde – by means of @Maren Paulmann & @Carola Winkelmman – is in charge of Work Package 3 that will provide an updated evaluation on the conservation status of listed river fish species in Europe. Also, BfG | Bundesanstalt für Gewässerkunde will test if anti-predation measures can help reaching the Good Ecological Status in European rivers as required by the EU Water Framework Directive
🔷 CNR Istituto di Ricerca Sulle Acque, with the assistance of Pietro Volta, who leads a scientific team with extensive expertise in freshwater fish ecology, inland fisheries, and biomonitoring. One of the primary tasks CNR Istituto di Ricerca Sulle Acque is undertaking for our project is the analysis of predation pressure in alpine rivers inhabited by marble trout, grayling, and barbel
🔷Universität für Bodenkultur Wien – leader of Work Package 4, led by Kurt Pinter – conducts extensive field studies in various EU countries covering different biogeograhical regions and river landscapes.
🔷SLU – Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet has experience and a network to conduct an EU-wide population survey on cormorants and also the experience and infrastructure to use advanced telemetric methods (PIT, radio, GPS) to study the behaviour of birds and fish.
🔷Aliénor – our project member leading WorkPackage 5 on “communication and dissemination activities”. This work package focuses on raising awareness, promoting the project’s results, and sharing any other notable information.
